Exclusion screening vendors compared
Checked against each vendor's own pages, October 2026
Every vendor below quotes a number of state Medicaid exclusion lists. The number that can exist is bounded: 8 of the 50 states and DC publish no list at all, which leaves 43 that do by our count. Florida is the judgment call: it publishes individual sanction orders through a records search rather than a roster, and some vendors count that search as a list. A claim of all 50 states cannot be literally true.
At a glance
| Vendor | State lists, in their words | Price | Free name search |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harper | Every state that publishes a list: 43 of the 50 states and DC, each named with its record count and last read date. 40 read successfully on our latest run, as of October 14, 2026. | Free. | Yes |
| Exclusion Screening LLC | The homepage says 42 state exclusion databases. The pricing page says all 46 state lists. | $30 a month for up to 100 screens against LEIE, SAM and one state list; $40 a month for up to 100 screens against all its state lists; custom pricing above 100. | No free name search. Its tools page offers a compliance self-assessment and lists a single-name LEIE lookup as coming. |
| ProviderTrust | Its sources map lists 42 jurisdictions including DC, names seven states that publish no list, and marks Delaware and Vermont as available by email request. | Not published; sold by quote. | No free public name search found on its site. |
| Streamline Verify | Says it checks 45 separate state Medicaid exclusion lists. That count includes DC and a second Washington list. | Not published; sold by quote. | No free public name search found on its site. |
| Verisys | Its FACIS page says 38 Medicaid sanctions sources. An older Verisys page lists 39 states and DC. | Not published; sold by quote. | No free public name search found on its site. |
| Accountable | Says state-specific exclusion lists are not yet included. | Included in its paid plans. | Screening is available inside its paid plans rather than as a free public search. |
What the paid vendors offer that Harper does not
Several cover lists Harper does not search today: the CMS Preclusion List (ProviderTrust, Streamline Verify), Medicare Opt-Out (ProviderTrust, Verisys) and the SSA Death Master File (ProviderTrust, Exclusion Screening LLC). Most sell monitoring as a service, running your roster on a schedule and keeping the records. Streamline Verify and Verisys describe refreshes far faster than Harper’s weekly read. If you need any of those, one of them is the better fit, and each page below says which.
